My name is Barry Hodge and I am running for the Board of Supervisors for the 3rd District in Powhatan County.
I have lived in Powhatan for 11 years with my wife and four children along with running my own business in Powhatan’s Historic Village Courthouse area. My retired father and mother-in-law also live in Powhatan.
I was alarmed during the last four years as the County Government increased spending and taxes, added staff, and created new departments while the economy was experiencing the greatest recession since the Great Depression. While the School Board recognized the signs of the times and cut back the County Government kept acting as if the economy was booming and treated the School Board as if it were the problem. Common sense dictates a difference course for the next four years.
On November 8, a vote for me is a vote for the days of fiscal responsibility to begin and an end to the days of increased spending and rising taxes.
